A group of male goldfinches were hanging on the living room windows a while ago, apparently trying to pick stuff out of the screens. One bird appeared interested in what was going on inside and pecked on the glass. The cockatiel thought this was pretty exciting.
I encountered a few young quail yesterday while I was out for my walk. At least I assumed they were young since they seemed to be interested in the large human and came a bit closer. They'll learn. Also spotted a blue heron flying across one of the lakes and got a whiff of fresh, black mulch. Nothing says "happy days ahead" like fresh, black mulch. Our air quality alerts are back to warning about ozone instead of particulate matter from the wildfires up in Quebec, for which I'm grateful. I would be exceedingly grateful if we could have highs in the 80s for longer than two consecutive days. Doesn't appear to be in the cards this year. Comments are closed.
